Daud Building Material Supplier

Our place is located in Islampur Village, right at Shona Chowk. If you look across from the Deepak Service Station, you will see all the big piles of sand and bricks. That is Daud Building Material Supplier. It is a very dusty job, and we are usually covered in gray dust by the time noon rolls around. We have trucks coming in and out all day to drop off supplies or take them to various construction sites nearby. It is a very open space, mostly outdoors under the sky. When it rains, we have to move really fast to cover everything up with big plastic sheets so the cement does not get ruined. The traffic at the chowk can be a real nightmare sometimes, especially in the evenings when everyone is heading home. We have a small shack on the site where we keep the accounts and sit when it gets too hot to stand outside. It is mostly just a few of us working here. We know the local builders and the people from the village who are slowly fixing up their family homes. Sometimes we just sit on the stacks of bricks and have our tea while watching the cars getting fuel at the service station across the road. It is not a fancy business, just a lot of heavy lifting and keeping track of the daily deliveries. The days are long, but we like being out in the air.
