The yard is located at House No: 451/26 in Baldev Nagar, right off Basai Road in Gurgaon. It’s a dusty place because of all the cement and bitumen we move around. Delhi Bitumen Sales is where we handle the distribution for Bangur Cement in this part of the city. We have trucks coming in early in the morning and leaving late at night. There is always a layer of grey dust on the windows, no matter how much we clean them. The office is just a small room where we keep the delivery receipts and talk to the drivers. It’s hot in the summer and the Basai Road traffic can be a real headache when we are trying to get a load out on time. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us, the laborers, and the guys who drive the heavy trucks. We spend our time counting bags and making sure the bitumen drums are stored properly so they don't leak. If you come by, you’ll probably find us sitting on plastic chairs near the entrance. We know most of the contractors around Gurgaon because they’ve been buying from us for years. It’s hard work, and your clothes always end up dirty by the end of the shift. But the construction business doesn't stop, so we stay busy keeping the supplies moving to different sites.
