Our office is located in the Nilgiri Apartments, which is in the Alaknanda area of New Delhi. It is flat number 395. Working from an apartment complex is quite common in this part of the city, and it gives the whole place a more relaxed feel than a cold, grey office building. Alaknanda is a nice part of Delhi, with plenty of trees and small parks nearby where people walk in the evenings. We handle the business for Capital Iq from this spot. It is mostly desk work, involving a lot of research and looking at different sets of data. The rooms are filled with desks and a lot of wires for the computers and printers. It can get a bit cramped when everyone is in the office at the same time, but we manage to stay organized. You can usually hear the sounds of the colony—people walking their dogs or the local vegetable sellers going by on the street. It is a very human environment to be in. We do not have a fancy coffee machine, just a kettle and some tea bags in the small kitchen area near the back. Sometimes the guard at the main gate asks visitors where they are going, but everyone knows we are in 395. It is a steady, quiet place to work. We don't put on any airs about being a big firm; we just focus on the reports and the numbers we have to process.
