Blessed Assurance Fabric & African Georges

You can find us over at No. 16- A Block Estate on the Hills Side. It’s a quiet enough area until the morning deliveries start rolling in. We specialize in African Georges and various other fabrics. The shop is usually full of bright colors and different textures. We spend a lot of time unrolling bolts of cloth and showing them to people who come by. It’s a family-run kind of feeling here, even if it gets hectic. People come to us when they need something specific for a celebration or just a good piece of material for a dress. We have piles of lace and embroidered stuff everywhere. It’s not the most organized looking place, but we know where everything is kept. The light coming in from the front door helps show off the patterns well. We deal with suppliers who bring in the latest designs. Sometimes we sit and have tea while talking to regular customers about what they’re making. It’s more about the cloth than anything else. We don’t do big ads. Word of mouth usually brings people up the hill to see us. The driveway is a bit steep, so you have to be careful when you park your car. We’ve been in this spot for a while and like the neighborhood. It’s a bit of a climb, but all the cloth we have makes it worth the trip for most folks who know about us.
