Our team works out of 275/4 in the Urban Estate area of Sector 4, Gurgaon. This is a residential part of the city, so it’s quite different from the Cyber Hub or the big office parks you see elsewhere in Gurgaon. We operate the American Express India Pvt Ltd office from here. It’s a straightforward setup in a regular building. We’ve got our computers set up in the main rooms, and there’s a lot of coming and going with different files and documents. The neighborhood is mostly families, so we try to keep things relatively quiet. We don't have a receptionist; if someone knocks, one of us just gets up to see who it is. The work involves a lot of looking at screens and making sure all the numbers add up correctly. It’s not glamorous, but it’s what we do. We have a small area where we keep the water cooler and some biscuits for when we need a break. The lighting could be better, but we’ve added a few extra lamps to help us see. Most of us have been working here at this address for a couple of years now. We know the best places to get a quick snack nearby. We don't bother with corporate talk or polished speeches. We just focus on the task list and try to get through it by the end of the day. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place to work. We all just get along and get the job finished on time.
