Our office is located at House No 596 in Sector 4, within the Urban Estate area of Gurgaon. It’s a residential neighborhood, so it feels more like a home than a typical business center. We work for American Express India Pvt Ltd out of this house. We’ve used the ground floor mostly for our desks and equipment. It’s a quiet street for the most part, which helps us stay focused on the spreadsheets and reports we have to finish. There’s a small garden area in the front where we sometimes stand during our breaks to get some sun. We don't have a lot of visitors, as most of our work is done internally. The rooms are a decent size, but with all the computers and filing systems, it gets a bit crowded. We’ve lived with the quirky bits of the house, like the occasional leaky tap or the door that sticks in the monsoon. It’s just a normal workplace with normal people. We don't use any big words to describe what we do. We just make sure the records are straight and the deadlines are met. Being in Sector 4 is convenient because the local market isn't far away. We usually take turns getting tea for everyone in the late afternoon. It’s a steady environment where we know what’s expected of us and we just get on with it. It’s been our base for a while, and we’ve gotten quite comfortable in this little corner of Gurgaon.
