Shivam Cyber Cafe

We are located in Village Haryal, which is about 10 or 15 kilometers out from the main Pathankot area. If you know where the PNB Bank is in Chakki Haryal, we are right near there. It's a quiet spot most days, but people from the village come in quite a bit. We set up this cyber cafe because there wasn't much around for people to get online or print out documents they need for school or work. We have a few computers and a printer that gets used a lot for forms and stuff like that. Sometimes the internet is fast and sometimes it's just okay, you know how it goes in the village. We spend most of our time sitting behind the desk helping people figure out how to fill out online applications or scanning papers. It is not a very big place, just enough room for a few people to sit and work at once. We’ve been here for a while now and most of the locals know where to find us. Usually, someone is always coming in to check something on the web or get a photocopy. It’s a simple setup, nothing fancy at all, just a room with some desks and wires. We try to keep things running even when it’s busy. It feels good to be part of the community here. Most days are pretty much the same, just keeping the machines going and talking to the neighbors who drop in. It's just a regular way to spend the day.
