Our place is right in the Main Bazar, just opposite the Nagar Council in Dera Baba Nanak. It’s a convenient spot because everyone passes through here eventually when they’re out doing their daily shopping or running errands at the council office. The shop is called Dera Baba Nanak Computer Solutions, and it’s been part of this street for a bit. The entrance is usually blocked by a few bicycles parked out front, and inside, it smells a bit like warm electronics and old paper. We handle whatever comes through the door, whether it’s a student with a broken laptop or a shopkeeper whose billing software is acting up. The street noise from the bazar is constant, but you get used to it after a few weeks. We don’t have fancy displays, just a few sturdy tables where we can open up the machines and see what’s going on inside. Sometimes the parts take a few days to arrive from the bigger cities, so there’s a bit of waiting involved, and we keep the units on a back shelf until then. It’s a simple setup. We know most of the people who come in by their first names since it’s a tight community around the Main Bazar. We just keep things moving, trying to make sure the computers are running okay for the folks who rely on them for their work or school.
