Deep Weavers

Deep Weavers is located over at Shiv Nagar, number 340, right off Batala Road. If you know the area, it is easy enough to find. We spend our days around the looms and the thread. It is noisy work and there is always lint in the air, but it’s what we do. My father started things out and we just kept it going. We aren't a massive factory with robots or anything like that. Most of the work is still done by hand or with older machines that we have to fix ourselves sometimes when they break down. You can hear the rhythmic clicking of the machines from the street if the windows are open. We work with a lot of different yarns and colors. Some days the patterns come out perfect and other days we have to start over because a thread snapped halfway through. That is just part of weaving, really. We sell to local shops and sometimes people from further away who heard about us through word of mouth. It’s a bit cramped in the workshop with all the rolls of fabric stacked up against the walls. We usually have a bit of a mess going on with scraps and bobbins on the floor. It is honest work though. We show up early, turn the lights on, and get to it. Batala Road is always busy so there is plenty of noise outside too. We just focus on the cloth in front of us and try to get the orders done by Friday.
