Nakkipur Farmers Producer Company Limited is a small group located in Nakipur, which is part of the Simaria South area in Korha. Sitaram Mahto is the one who helps keep our records and meetings organized at his place in the village. We are all local farmers who have lived here for most of our lives. We didn't start this to become a big famous company. We just wanted a way to make farming a bit more stable for us and our neighbors who are struggling. Most of us have small plots of land, and it can be hard to get a good price for our crops when we sell them alone. By coming together, we feel a bit stronger when we go to the market. We aren't business experts; we are people who know how to grow things in this specific soil. We talk about the weather and the seeds and how to keep the pests away from our plants. It’s a very simple operation. We don’t have a lot of money to spend on fancy things, so we just focus on the hard work. Sometimes it's a struggle, and we have bad years where things don't go according to plan at all. But that's just how farming is in this region. We stay together because it’s better than being on your own. We just want to keep our farms going and provide for our families.
