If you head over to Village-Naharbari in Ghograpar, you will find us working out of Prahlad Sarkar’s place. Adarshik Agro Producer Company Limited is really just a collective of local farmers who decided that we could do more if we pooled our resources. Farming around here is a lot of manual labor and long days under the sun. We started this because getting fair prices and decent supplies was getting harder for each person to do solo. Now, we sit down together and plan out what we are planting. It isn't always smooth sailing, and we have plenty of arguments about which crops will do best, but we are all neighbors at the end of the day. Our address is basically a home, not some glass building in a city. We keep our tools and some of our supplies there. People in Naharbari know where to find us if they need to talk about agriculture. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements or polished brochures. Our focus is on the dirt and the crops we produce. It is a practical way to manage our work. We just want to make sure our farms stay productive so we can take care of our homes. It’s just us, the local farmers, trying to make things a bit more stable for everyone in the area.
