Nav Bharat Granite & Marbles

Our yard is located at Plot No. 57 in the Pilerne Industrial Estate. We deal with heavy stone, mostly granites and marbles that people use for their floors or kitchen tops. It’s a dusty job, and there’s always the sound of cutting or moving slabs around. Being in Pilerne, near Saligao, we get a lot of contractors and homeowners stopping by to look at the different colors and patterns. We keep the slabs leaned up against the frames so people can walk through and see them. Some pieces have more veins than others, and it’s always a bit of a process to pick the right one. We’ve been here in this industrial area for a bit, and it’s a good spot for unloading the big trucks that come from the quarries. Moving marble is a slow business because you have to be careful not to crack the edges. We aren't a big showroom with air conditioning; it’s more of a practical workspace. We just show what we have in stock and tell people the price per square foot. If someone needs a specific size, we try to cut it, but it takes time. The Goa weather can be hot, so we usually take a long break in the afternoon. It’s just how we run things here. There are a few of us working the machines and helping with the loading. It’s hard work, but the stones look good once they are polished and put in a house.
