Sai Stonex

We’re over at Plot No-71/2 in the Pilerne Industrial Estate. Sai Stonex is basically a big warehouse and yard where we keep all the stone. Being in an industrial estate means there are always trucks and forklifts moving around. It can be a bit chaotic on Monday mornings when the new shipments arrive from the quarries. We spend a lot of time moving slabs around to find the right ones for orders. It’s heavy, slow work. The area around Bhiwadi and Saligaon has a lot of this kind of business, but we just stick to our corner. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning; it’s mostly just the work floor and the storage area. Most of us have been working with stone for a long time, so we know how to handle the different types without breaking them. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, but once people find the plot, they see we have plenty of material to look through. We don't use a lot of big words or sales pitches. If you like a piece of stone, we mark it and set it aside. The dust gets everywhere, and the noise from the polishers is constant. That is just how it is here. We focus on getting the slabs cut and loaded so the trucks can get back on the road. We’re just here doing our job like everyone else.
