Son Marble & Granites

We’ve been here at Son Marble & Granites for quite some time now. Our yard is right near the Ktc Bus Stand on Nh 17 in Fatorda. Most people in Margao know this spot. It’s a busy area with buses coming and going all day. We keep a lot of granite slabs and marble pieces out in the open. You can see them from the road as you drive toward Davondem. It gets dusty being so close to the highway but that’s just how it is. We spend most of our mornings moving heavy blocks around with the crane. It’s hard work, especially when the sun is out in Goa. Sometimes it rains and we have to cover things up quickly. People stop by when they’re building their houses nearby. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that. Just the stones and us. We handle the loading ourselves. If you’re coming from the bus stand, we are just a short walk away. The noise of the traffic is constant, but you get used to it after a few years. We know the neighbors around here well. Some of them are also in the building trade. We just focus on keeping the stock ready for whoever needs it. It’s a simple setup. Nothing too complicated. We just show up every morning, open the gate, and start the day. Sometimes we have tea from the stall across the road while waiting for a truck to arrive for a pickup.
