The Apple Tree

The Apple Tree is on the ground floor over at Rampuri A-83. It is a simple place and easy to walk into since you don't have to deal with any stairs. The Ram Prastha area is mostly residential so it’s not as loud as the main roads. We spend a lot of our time just sitting in the front room where the light comes in from the street. It’s a basic building with painted walls that might need a touch-up here and there. We have some wooden furniture that’s been around for quite a few years. It’s the kind of place where the door stays open during the day unless it’s really dusty outside. Neighbors walk past and sometimes wave through the glass. We don't have any fancy posters or big screens. Usually, there’s just a radio playing somewhere in the back or the sound of someone making tea. The floor is easy to sweep, which is good because people bring in a bit of grit from the road. We keep our files in some old metal cabinets that squeak when you open the drawers. It’s not a corporate office with a lobby. It’s just a room on the ground floor where we handle our business. Most days are quiet and we like it that way. If someone stops by, we just pull up an extra chair for them. It’s a small, practical space that suits what we do just fine without any unnecessary extras or polish.
