Standard Sweet Shop

Standard Sweet Shop is located at Wz-25/3 in the Jwala Heri Market in Rajouri Garden. It’s a very busy market, and we’ve been here for a long time now. Our day usually starts pretty early, getting the kitchen ready to make the usual sweets like laddoos and barfis that people expect. We also do savory things like samosas and bread pakoras because they go well with tea in the afternoon. The shop always smells like frying snacks and boiling sugar, which is just how it is in this business. We don't have much room for people to sit down, so most of our customers just buy what they want and take it home. During festival seasons, the shop gets really crowded and we have to work much harder to keep the shelves full of fresh sweets. We aren't trying to be a high-end bakery; we’re just a traditional sweet shop for the local neighborhood. Sometimes the floors get a bit messy during the rush, but we do our best to keep things tidy. We know many of the families around Rajouri Garden who have been buying from us for years. It’s a straightforward business, and we just focus on making the sweets the way we always have. The noise from the Jwala Heri Market is always loud outside, but inside we’re just focused on serving whoever is standing at the counter.
