Shyam Sweets & Confectionery

Shyam Sweets & Confectionery is located in Bansal Chamber 1 over in Kaushambi. It’s a bit of a mix here because we have the traditional sweets but also some of the packaged stuff you’d find in a grocery store. The shop isn’t huge, but we use the space as best we can. We have shelves lined with biscuits and chocolates, and then the glass counters for the fresh milk sweets and snacks. It’s a busy area with a lot of offices and apartments nearby, so we get a lot of variety in our customers. Some come in for a quick packet of chips, while others want a kilo of sweets for a celebration. We spend a lot of time stocking the shelves and making sure the displays look okay. It’s not a high-end boutique; it’s a practical shop for the people living and working in Kaushambi. The floors are tiled, and we try to keep them swept, though it’s hard with people coming in and out all day. We don't have a big marketing plan. We just open the shutters in the morning and close them at night. Most of our day is spent weighing things out on the scale and making change. It’s steady work. We’ve seen many businesses come and go in the chambers, but we’re still here at the same spot, doing our daily routine and greeting the regulars who come in.
