Shiva Associates Engineering Works

Over at Panchsheel Colony in Lal Kuan, at number 54, is where Shiva Associates Engineering Works sits. It’s a bit away from the main highway, which makes it a little quieter, but not by much during the day. We have a lot of tools and parts scattered across the workbenches. Most days involve a lot of grinding, cutting, and fitting pieces together for various machines. We started this place because we liked fixing things and it just grew into a full-time job. It’s not a big corporate firm with secretaries. It’s just a workshop where we get our hands dirty and get things done. The light inside isn't the best, so we use those movable lamps to see what we are doing on the lathes. Sometimes customers come in with parts that are so rusted we aren't sure if they can be saved, but we try anyway because that's why they came to us. We have an old radio that plays in the background, mostly just for some noise while we work. The floor is concrete and it gets hard on the feet after eight or nine hours. We don't have a fancy neon sign, just the name painted on the door. People in the Lal Kuan area know where to find us if they need something welded or machined. It's a steady life, and we like the routine of opening up, making tea, and getting to work on the projects.
