Saifco Industries

Saifco Industries operates out of 106, Amrit Steel Compound in the South Ind. area. Being in an industrial compound means we are surrounded by other businesses doing similar heavy work. The compound is always busy with trucks backing in and out, and the ground is mostly gravel and dirt. Our unit is a big open space with high ceilings, which helps keep it cool when we’re busy. We have some heavy machinery that takes up most of the room, so there’s not much space for sitting around. We keep a small desk in the corner for the paperwork, but most of the action happens on the shop floor. It’s a very practical environment where we focus on industrial production. The air always smells a bit like oil and metal, which you get used to after a couple of days. We don’t have a marketing team or a sales department; we just fulfill the contracts that come our way. Most of us have been working here for years and know exactly how the machines sound when they’re running right. Lunch is usually eaten together on some wooden crates in the shade. It’s a tough environment, but it’s steady. We don't use any complicated jargon, just plain talk about what needs to be built. We show up, do the shifts, and make sure the gates are locked tight at night.
