Down here on the south side of GT Road, things are pretty loud and heavy. Being in the Bulandshahr Road Industrial Area means there is a lot of smoke and metal everywhere. We handle steel forgings at Rp Alloys. It’s the kind of place where you have to wear heavy boots and keep your eyes open. The furnaces get really hot, especially in the summer months, which makes the work pretty tiring for the crew. We spend the day moving heavy parts around and making sure the metal is shaped the way it needs to be. It isn’t a clean job by any means. Everyone usually leaves with grease on their clothes and soot on their faces. The trucks are constantly backing in and out of the yard, picking up loads or dropping off raw materials. Sometimes the traffic on the main road is so bad it slows everything down, but we just keep working through it. We’ve got a small office room where the paperwork happens, but most of us are out on the floor. It’s just basic metal work, really. We don’t have any fancy robots or anything, just hammers and heat and people who know how to handle them. It’s hard work, but it’s what we’ve been doing for years now. We usually wrap up late and head home tired, but that's just the business of steel and forging.
