A. B. Steel Corporation is right at 36, Loha Mandi. As the name of the area suggests, this is the place for iron and steel. We have been part of this market for a long time. Our space is filled with beams, sheets, and rods of all sizes. It is a bit of a maze inside because we try to fit as much as possible into the storage area. The ground is usually covered in a thin layer of grit, and the smell of raw iron is everywhere. We don't go in for much decoration or comfort here. There are a few plastic chairs for when customers want to sit and talk about their orders. Most of the business is done through handshakes and shouting over the noise of the traffic outside. Loha Mandi is a hectic place to work, but we like the energy of it. We see a lot of the same faces every week, guys who have been buying from us since we first opened the doors. We don't use many computers; most of the tracking is done in big bound books that sit on the main desk. It might seem old-fashioned to some, but it works for what we do. We just focus on getting the steel loaded onto the carts and sent on its way. It is a basic, honest way to earn a living in a very busy part of the city.
