Raman Stationary Sports & Gift Gallery

My shop is on Ashram Road in Nandgram, at D-725. I’ve been here for a good few years now, serving the local crowd. It’s a bit of a mix of everything inside. I have notebooks, pens, and pencils for the school kids, and then some cricket bats and footballs in the back corner. People also come here looking for gifts when there’s a wedding or a birthday party in the neighborhood. Nandgram is a crowded place with lots of houses, and my shop is right in the middle of it all. I start my day early because the students often need their supplies before the first school bell rings. The shelves are quite high, so I have to use a small wooden ladder sometimes to reach the top. It’s not a polished or modern place. The floor has some cracks and the walls could probably use some fresh paint, but it belongs to me. I know a lot of the parents who come in. They tell me how their kids are doing while I wrap up a notebook or a small toy. I keep a variety of things because you never know what someone might need at the last minute. One day it's a geometry box, the next day it's a stuffed animal for a toddler. I handle all the accounts myself in a thick paper register. It keeps me busy from morning till night. Sometimes the power goes out, but we stay open.
