Raja Pan Bhandar

Raja Pan Bhandar is over at the Alaknanda Shopping Complex, specifically at G-04/E1. It’s a small shop, more of a kiosk really, but it serves the whole Alaknanda area. The shopping complex is a bit of a hub for people living nearby, so we see a lot of families out for a walk in the evening. Our spot is quite tiny, just enough room for the counter and all the jars of ingredients. I spend most of my day sitting there, talking to people while I work. The complex has been around for a while, so some of the tiles are cracked and the paint is peeling in places, but it has a comfortable feel. We have a small radio that plays old songs in the background. Sometimes the kids from the nearby apartments come over just to look at the colorful jars. We don't have any big advertisements or flashy lights, just a small sign above the door. It gets quite crowded on weekend nights when everyone is out for dinner at the restaurants nearby and stops by our place afterward. The Alaknanda area is pretty quiet overall, which I like. We aren't looking to expand or move to a bigger place; this little corner in G-04 is just right for what we do. It’s a steady life, seeing the same faces year after year and knowing exactly how they like their stuff prepared.
