Pankaj Architect & Associates

I am at 8 Gda Market on the Main Road in Vaishali Sector 3. It’s right near the United Bank. I’ve been working out of this Ghaziabad office for quite some time now. The market gets really crowded in the evenings, so I usually try to get my site visits done early in the morning before the traffic gets too bad. Pankaj Architect & Associates is just a small operation. It’s me and a couple of assistants. Our desks are usually covered in rolls of ammonia prints and yellow tracing paper. It’s not a very fancy place, just a regular office where we do our work. People from the neighborhood often stop by just to ask a quick question about a wall or a roof. I like being on the main road because it feels like I'm part of the local scene. Sometimes the power cuts out and we just sit and talk until the backup kicks in. We don’t have any big corporate mission or anything like that. We just draw what people need and try to make sure the measurements are right. The walls are a bit bare, and the furniture has seen better days, but it works for us. Ghaziabad is a busy place to be an architect. I’ve lived around here for years, so I know the shortcuts and the local shops. It’s just a normal job in a normal part of town.
