Mithaas Shop

If you walk through Jindal Mkt in Sahibabad, you’ll find us at Shop No 17. It’s in the Rajender NGR area. Mithaas Shop is a small place, really. We’ve got the glass cases filled with whatever we made fresh that morning. It’s a bit cramped inside when more than three people walk in at once. We usually have the radio playing in the background, but you can barely hear it over the sound of the traffic outside. The market is always busy with people buying their daily things. We spend most of our time in the back where the big pots are. It gets very steamy when we’re working on a new batch. My father used to help out here too. Now it’s mostly just us. We don't spend money on advertising or fancy signs. Most people just know where we are because they’ve been coming here since they were kids. We try to keep everything consistent. If someone buys a box today, it should taste the same as the one they bought last month. That’s really all we care about. Sometimes we stay late to finish up the cleaning. The metal shutters make a loud noise when we pull them down at night. It’s a simple life running a shop in a market like this. We just take it one day at a time and hope the customers are satisfied with what they get.
