The shop for Metro Refrigeration Industries is at D-35 on Meerut Road. Being in an industrial area means there is always a lot of activity and the sound of trucks passing by. We deal with cooling systems and refrigeration parts all day. It is funny because the air inside the workshop is never as cold as the machines we work on. We have rows of compressors and coils sitting on shelves. The smell of solder and cleaning chemicals is pretty much always in the air. We are not a large operation, just a few of us making sure things are put together right. The floor is usually cluttered with copper tubing and insulation foam. We use a lot of hand tools and some welding gear to get the jobs done. Meerut Road is a long stretch and we have been at this D-35 spot for quite some time now. We know the other shop owners around here and we sometimes borrow tools from each other. Our office desk is covered in old invoices and sketches of cooling layouts. It is not a polished corporate environment. It is a place where we wear overalls and get things done. We take our lunch at the same time every day and talk about the heat or the local news. It is just our daily life in the industrial belt.
