Luxmi Sweet House

Shibari Village Road is where we spend most of our days, right at 3/K-432 in the Civil Lines area. It is a busy stretch of road and things start moving pretty early around here. Luxmi Sweet House isn’t a very big place, but we have enough room to get the work done every morning. We usually start while it is still dark outside, getting the milk boiled and the sugar ready for whatever we are making that day. The building itself is an older one, and you can see that in the walls and the floor, but it’s sturdy and serves us well. We don't really bother with big advertisements or fancy decorations because people around Civil Lines already know we are here. Most of the folks who come in are just neighbors or people passing by on their way to work. Sometimes the shop gets a bit crowded and people have to wait outside on the edge of the road, but nobody seems to mind much. We just keep our heads down and stay busy with the trays. The smell of frying ghee usually hangs in the air all afternoon. It’s just a simple sweet shop and we try to keep it that way without making things too complicated. We’ve been at this spot for a long time, and the routine hasn’t changed much over the years. We just open the doors and see who comes by.
