Lalit Pan Bhandar

Down in the Kavi Nagar Market at C/19, you’ll find Lalit Pan Bhandar. We’ve been part of this market for a good while. It’s a small space, but we manage to keep everything organized. The market stays busy with people shopping for groceries or clothes, and they usually stop by our counter before they head out. We keep all the different tobacco and sweet pan ingredients ready. It’s mostly just repetitive work, cutting the nuts and prepping the leaves so people don’t have to wait too long. The market has its own rhythm, and we’re just one small part of it. Some days are more hectic than others, especially during festivals or weekend evenings when everyone is out. We don’t have a big team or any fancy technology. We just use our hands and the same old containers we’ve had for ages. It gets a bit dusty being out in the open like this, but we keep the area around the shop as tidy as we can. People come by, say hello, get their pan, and move on. It’s a very straightforward way to spend the day. We know a lot of the other shopkeepers around C/19 too. It’s a community. Nothing more to it than that. Just a shop in the market doing its thing every day. We don't have any big stories to tell. We just serve the customers who come to the market and keep our supplies stocked up.
