K.G.N. MACHINE TOOLS

I've been at Plot No. 4 on Vishwakarma Marg for a long time now. People around Hindon Vihar know the spot, mostly because of the constant noise from the machines through the day. Street No. 3 is usually a bit crowded with trucks or people moving stuff around, but we manage to get things done. My hands are usually covered in some kind of grease by ten in the morning. That’s just how it is here at K.G.N. MACHINE TOOLS. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning or a front desk. It is just a workshop where things get made. Sometimes the electricity cuts out and we sit on the stools outside for a bit, having tea from the stall nearby. The neighbors are mostly doing similar metal work, so we all know each other’s names. When a machine needs fixing or a part needs turning, we just get to it. There isn't much talk about big plans or anything. We just take the work as it comes in and try to stay on schedule. The floor gets messy with metal scraps, and we sweep it up every evening before pulling down the shutters. It’s hard work and it’s loud, but it keeps us busy and the lights on. You can find us easily if you are coming down Vishwakarma Marg; just look for the open gate near the corner where the trucks park. We’ve been here through the hot summers and the rains, just doing the same work every day without much fuss or bother.
