Gol Hatti Sweet Shop

Being on G.T Road at the K/2 spot, Gol Hatti Sweet Shop is always in the middle of the action. The road is constantly busy with cars and buses going past, and the noise is just something we’ve learned to ignore. Inside the shop, it’s a different world with all the trays of sweets lined up behind the glass. We spend our mornings preparing everything and making sure the displays look okay, though they usually get messy pretty fast once people start coming in. It’s a traditional kind of place, nothing too modern or polished. We use the same big pots and pans that have been here for a long time. The floor is made of stone and it’s seen a lot of feet over the years. We get a mix of travelers passing through on G.T Road and locals who have lived here forever. We don't do much in the way of advertising; people just know the sign and the smell of the shop. There is always a lot of cleaning to do, especially with all the sugar and flour we use. It’s hard work and the days are long, but there is something nice about seeing the trays empty out by the end of the day. We just keep things simple, stick to our routine, and serve whoever walks through the door from the busy road outside. It is just a regular life in a busy place.
