Our place, Epothane Civelec Engineers Pvt. Ltd., is over at S-9 in the B.S. Road Industrial Area. We are right across from the U.P. Roadways Workshop. It’s quite a sight watching all those buses coming in for repairs while we are doing our own engineering work here. The industrial area is pretty rough around the edges, with potholes and a lot of grease, but it’s where we belong. We deal with a lot of technical stuff every day. The office is small and usually filled with blueprints and some half-empty chai cups. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If you walk in, you’ll probably just see one of us hunched over a desk or talking loudly on the phone to a site manager. The heat in the summer can be a real pain because the workshop across the road reflects so much sun, but we just keep the fans going. We have a small team, and we’ve all known each other for a long time. There’s no formal talk here; we just say what needs to be said to get the job finished. Most of our day is spent making sure the projects are moving along like they should. It’s not glamorous work, and the boots we wear stay dirty, but the engineering keeps our minds sharp and our hands occupied. We are just local people putting in the hours and making sure the engineering work gets done right.
