Amit Sweets Houses

Our shop is right in the middle of Samman Bazar in Bhogal, at 106-B. If you know Bhogal, you know how crowded it can get, especially on the weekends. Amit Sweets Houses has been sitting here while the street life goes on around us. We aren't doing anything revolutionary. We just make sweets and some salty snacks for the local families. It’s a lot of tradition, really. We learned how to do this from the people before us. The shop gets a bit cramped when there are more than five people inside, but that’s just how these old market buildings are built. We don’t mind it much. We spend our mornings getting the syrups ready and frying the snacks. The smell of the kitchen usually drifts out into the bazaar. People walking by stop in because they see something they like in the window. We don't use any big corporate strategies. We just talk to the customers, pack their boxes, and give them their change. It’s a very direct way to live. Sometimes we run out of the popular stuff by five in the afternoon. We just tell people to come back tomorrow. It’s practical and it’s how we’ve always operated here in Samman Bazar. We're just a local business trying to keep things going one day at a time without any extra noise or fuss. It's just simple shop keeping.
