Our workshop is over at Plot No: 36, right in the middle of the Noida Special Economic Zone in Phase II. It's a busy spot to get to every morning with all the security checks at the gate, but once you're inside, it’s just us and the work. We spend a lot of time under these bright lamps looking at small pieces of gold and stones. The air conditioning is always humming because it gets pretty hot out there in Noida. Most of the people working here have been around for a long time, so we just know the routine. It’s not a fancy office or anything like that. Just some workbenches, a few heavy safes for the materials, and the sound of polishing wheels going all day. Sometimes the paperwork for the SEZ takes up a lot of time, but that is just how it is when you work in an export zone like this. We usually take our tea breaks together near the back. It’s a simple setup where we focus on getting the jewelry pieces finished so they can be shipped out. There’s always a lot of dust from the grinding, so we keep things as clean as we can. We've been at this location for a while now and most of the guards know us by name. It’s just a regular place where people come to do their jobs and then head home through the Phase II traffic.
