Valakhedi Farmer Producer Companylimited is based out of Valakhedi, which is a small spot in the Santrampur area. Our setup is basically at Patel Divyenkumar Bhailalbhai’s place in Pir Fa Liya. It’s a quiet village mostly, except when the harvest is coming in and everyone is moving around. We don’t have a big corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. It is just a room where we get together to figure out how to help the local farmers get a better deal for what they grow in Panchmahals. The roads around here can be a bit rough after the rains, so getting things moved takes a little more time than it should. We usually have some tea and sit down to talk about seeds or prices. Most of the people involved are just local folks from the neighborhood who have known each other for years. It’s a community thing more than a big business thing. We don’t use any big words or have long meetings that go nowhere. We just look at what needs to be done for the crops this season. Divyenkumar is usually around if someone has a question about the paperwork or the government schemes. It’s a simple life here in the village, and we like it that way. The birds are always making noise in the trees outside while we work. We are just trying to make things work for the small farmers in our corner of the world. It is just us and the land.
