We’ve got our office for Malaysian Airlines set up at 681, Sector Faridabad, right here in Haryana. It’s a bit of a trek from the main airport, but we handle a lot of the logistical side of things from this building. Inside, it’s mostly just desks, phones, and people trying to coordinate flights that are happening thousands of miles away. It feels a bit strange sometimes, being in Faridabad and talking about planes landing in Kuala Lumpur, but we’ve gotten used to it. The office isn't anything fancy—just a functional space where we keep track of schedules and paperwork. We’ve got a small kitchen where someone is always making tea, and the printer usually jams at the worst possible time. We don't use much of that polished airline talk you see in magazines. Instead, we spend our time fixing errors in the system and making sure passengers have what they need. The weather in Haryana can get really dusty, so we’re always wiping down the windows and desks. It’s a steady job, and we’ve been at this address long enough that the postman doesn't even have to look at the number anymore. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big offices; we just want to make sure the work gets done correctly. It’s a lot of staring at screens and answering the same questions, but it’s what keeps the planes in the air at the end of the day.
