Celebrity Beauty Parlour

The shop is at number 14 in the RV Central Market over in Rampur Jagir, Beeta 1. It is not a very big place, but we have enough chairs for the ladies who come in. Most days it is just the sound of scissors and the TV running in the background to keep people busy while they wait. We do a lot of threading and hair cutting. Sometimes someone wants a full facial or something for a party, so we get out the creams and the steam machine. It gets a bit crowded on Saturdays because everyone wants to look nice for the weekend. The mirrors always need cleaning because of the hairspray and fingerprints. We have been in this market for some time, so we know most of the faces that walk through the door. It is mostly just talk about the weather or what is happening in the neighborhood while we work. The lights are bright so we can see what we are doing with the eyebrows. We don't have fancy coffee or anything, just a stool to sit on if the line is long. We try to keep things tidy, but with all the hair and cotton bits, it is a constant job to sweep up. It is just a regular local parlour where people come to get their stuff done without too much fuss. We use basic products that work well enough for most people. There is always a smell of talcum powder and shampoo in the air here. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use hand fans.
