Tsb Modern Rice Mill sits right at No:2, Poondurai Road, not far from the Eb Power House in Elumathur. Having that power house so close makes it easy to give people directions. We have some updated machinery in here, which helps things run a bit smoother than the old days. Still, it’s a lot of physical work moving those heavy sacks around the floor. The road outside stays busy with traffic, so we have to be careful when the trucks are backing in. Inside, the noise is constant, and the heat from the engines can get pretty intense during the summer months. Most of us here have been doing this for years, so we know the sound of the machines by heart. If something sounds off, we know exactly which bolt needs tightening. We don't spend our time in a polished office; we’re usually out there on the floor with the grain. It’s a gritty job, and you definitely won't leave here with clean clothes. We see the same faces every harvest season, and it’s nice to catch up with the local farmers while they wait. We just focus on getting the bags stitched and stacked properly. It isn’t about being the biggest mill, just about doing a steady job for the folks in Elumathur. By the time we lock up, we're usually pretty tired, but the work is done.
