Tsb Modern Rice Mill

Tsb Modern Rice Mill is situated out on Poondurai Road in Elumathur. If you drive down that way, you’ll see the tall structure and the trucks parked along the side of the road. It’s a dusty place, mostly from the rice husks and the movement of the grain. We spend our days surrounded by the hum of the machinery. It’s never really quiet here until we shut everything down at night. The smell of raw rice is everywhere, which is something you get used to after the first week. We deal with a lot of farmers and transport drivers who come in and out all day long. The office is just a small room with a fan and a few ledgers where we keep track of everything. It gets pretty humid in Elumathur, so everyone stays pretty tired by the afternoon. We don’t have a website or anything like that because we don’t really need one. We just focus on getting the milling done right and keeping the equipment running without too many breakdowns. Some of the machines are old and need a bit of a kick now and then to keep going. It’s hard work, and our clothes are usually covered in dust by the time we head home. It’s just a regular local mill. When the harvest season comes, it gets even more chaotic, but we just buckle down and get through it together. There's always plenty of work.
