Sree Lakshmi Provisional

Our shop, Sree Lakshmi Provisional, is at 52, Rangasamy Street. We are over in Karampadiamman Nagar in the Nerukutram area. It is a residential neighborhood mostly, so it stays fairly calm. People live very close by so they just walk over when they run out of milk or sugar. The shop isn't very big at all. We have stuff crammed onto the shelves from the floor all the way to the ceiling. You have to be careful not to knock things over with your elbows. It gets quite hot in the afternoons during the summer. We have a small table fan behind the counter that hums all day. We’ve been here at this specific spot for quite a while now. Most of the people in Karampadiamman Nagar are familiar faces to us. We hear the kids playing cricket in the street outside in the evenings. Sometimes we have to move the delivery bags to make room for people to stand inside. It’s a simple setup. We don’t have any fancy decorations or bright signs. Just the items for sale and the old cash drawer. We wake up early to get everything ready before the first customer arrives at the door. Nerukutram is a decent place to work. The street is narrow so parking a vehicle is a bit of a headache. We just deal with it. My brother helps me with the heavy lifting and moving crates.
