We are located inside the N. M. S. Compound at No. 60. It’s an interesting spot because there are other businesses nearby, so there’s a lot of coming and going through the main gate. Maruthi Exports is just one part of that daily bustle. Our space is pretty basic. We’ve got the essential furniture and enough room to keep our records straight. It’s not the kind of place that would win any design awards, but it works for what we need. The compound can get dusty when the trucks come in, so we’re always cleaning off the desks. We spend the bulk of our hours responding to inquiries and tracking shipments. It’s practical work. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour or so, and we just sit and talk until it comes back on. It’s a very local way of doing business. We know the other people working in the compound, so we say hello in the mornings. It feels more like a community than just a place of work. We don't have a big reception area or anyone to open the door for you. Usually, if you knock, whoever is closest will let you in. We’ve been at this for a while and don't see the point in making things complicated. We just show up, do the work, and head home to our families. It’s a simple life at No. 60.
