Our spot is just at No. 1/183, which doesn't sound like much of an address to most people, but it’s where we do everything. It’s a bit of a quiet area compared to the big city hubs. Most days start with opening up the heavy metal shutters and letting the morning air in. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so we try to keep the windows open as much as possible. The space is filled with stacks of paperwork and samples from different suppliers. It’s not organized like a library, but we have our own way of knowing where everything is kept. We don't spend money on fancy signs or decorations because we're usually too busy making sure the shipments are ready for the morning pickup. Most of our time goes into talking to the transport guys and making sure the numbers on the bills match what we actually put in the boxes. Sometimes things get delayed at the port, and we have to spend the whole evening on the phone trying to track things down. It’s a small operation, just a few of us here. We share the work and don't really have strict titles or roles. If the floor needs sweeping, one of us just grabs the broom. If a big load comes in, we all help move it. It’s a practical way to run things. We’ve got a small kettle for making tea and a few plastic chairs for when neighbors drop by to chat. It’s just a normal workplace where we try to get through the day's list.
