Agust Engineering Works

If you head toward Kondayampalayam and pass Sree Guru Engineering College, you’ll find us at 60/1 in Vaiyampalayam. It’s a good spot, though the road can be a bit bumpy. We started Agust Engineering Works as a small shop and it hasn’t changed all that much in terms of how we do things. We handle a lot of metal fabrication and machine parts. The lathe machines are almost always running, making that steady rhythmic sound that you get used to after a while. Our floor is always messy with metal shavings, and we spend a good part of Saturday just sweeping it all up. We aren't fancy people, not at all. We wear our work clothes until they’re stained with oil and then we wear them some more. The students from the college sometimes stop by to look at what we’re doing, which is fine as long as they stay out of the way of the sparks. We don’t have a marketing department or anyone to write pretty speeches. We just take the drawings we get and turn them into something solid. Sometimes we have to redo a piece because it wasn’t quite right, but we’d rather do that than send out something we aren't sure about. It’s just us, some heavy machines, and a lot of hard work every day. That’s pretty much the whole story of what happens here at our shop. It is what it is.
