The Metropolitan

If you look for us, we are right near the South Railway Station. It’s a location that stays loud almost twenty-four hours a day because of the trains and the people rushing to catch them. The Metropolitan has been standing here for quite a while now. We see a lot of people who are just getting off a long journey and look like they need a nap. The floors in the hallways have a few scuffs from all the heavy luggage being dragged over them, but we think it gives the place some character. Our staff is used to the fast pace. They can tell you exactly how long it takes to walk to the platform so you don't miss your departure. We don't have a big garden or a lot of quiet spaces because we are right in the thick of the city’s movement. Sometimes you can feel the vibration of the bigger trains if you’re sitting still. The lobby is small and usually has a few bags sitting in the corner while people wait to check in. It’s a practical spot for travelers. We keep the water running and the lights on, and we don't try to be anything more than what we are. It’s a place for people who are on their way somewhere else and just need a rest. We’ve seen many faces over the years, and most are just looking for a bit of sleep.
