Tata Ceramics Ltd

We’ve been over here at Plot No 26 in the Cochin Sez for a while now. Kakkanad is where everything happens for us. Tata Ceramics Ltd is mostly just a group of people who show up every morning to get things done. It’s a busy place. You see the kilns going and folks moving around the floor. It gets pretty warm in there, especially in the afternoons. We make a lot of different pieces. Sometimes things go perfectly and sometimes we have to start over on a batch, but that is just how working with clay is. It's not a quiet job. There is always the sound of machinery or someone calling out across the warehouse. We’ve stayed in this spot because it works for us. The logistics of being in the special economic zone help with the moving of goods, though the paperwork can be a bit of a headache some days. Most of the staff live nearby, so we’ve got a good local crowd. We aren't trying to be anything fancy. We just focus on the production line and making sure the crates are packed right before they head out. There’s a lot of dust, naturally, but we keep things moving. It’s a steady kind of life here in Kakkanad. Some of the guys have been here since the start and they know the machines better than anyone else. We just keep at it, day in and day out, making sure the output stays consistent.
