We’re on the first floor of Lakshmi Nivas over on Market Road. If you know the Kombara area in Tatapuram, you’ve probably walked past us a dozen times without even noticing the sign. It’s not a big flashy place, just a regular shop where we keep our furnishings and supplies. The stairs can be a bit steep when you’re carrying things up, especially in the afternoon heat when the air gets real heavy. We’ve been in this building for quite a while now. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven’t gotten around to it yet because there’s always something else to do. You can hear the noise from the street all day long, trucks rumbling by and people shouting down in the market. It gets pretty dusty, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the tables and the fabrics. Most of our neighbors are other small businesses, so we all know each other’s faces. We aren't doing anything fancy here. We just open the doors in the morning, handle whatever work comes in, and close up when it gets dark. Sometimes a customer comes in looking for a specific cloth or a set of curtains, and we just look through what we have on the shelves. It’s a simple way to spend the day. We don't have a big team or any complicated systems. Just us in Lakshmi Nivas. We are just here doing what we do every day.
