Jacsons Furniture Pvt. Ltd is located at Thamarappally House, right by Atlantis Junction on M. G Road, which is across from the Shipyard. It is an old building that has been converted into our space. You can see the big cranes of the shipyard from the front of our place. Inside, the air is thick with the scent of wood polish and varnish. We have furniture pieces displayed everywhere, so you have to weave your way through the tables and chairs to get to the back office. It is a bit of a maze. The floorboards creak in some spots, adding a bit of character to the place. We have been part of the MG Road scenery for a long time. People stop by after work to look at what we’ve made, and we just chat with them like neighbors. We don't have those aggressive salespeople you see in big malls. It is mostly just us and a few helpers who know the details of the joints and the wood types. Sometimes the traffic outside makes it hard to hear, but we don't mind. We take pride in just being a local fixture in Kochi. The humidity from being so close to the water can be a challenge for the wood, so we are always checking on the pieces. It’s a slow and steady kind of business.
