Peter'S Handicrafts & Antiques

I've been here on Princess Street for a good while now. Peter'S Handicrafts & Antiques is mostly just a bunch of stuff we’ve collected and some things we make. It’s not a fancy showroom or anything like that. The shelves are a bit dusty and the light in the back room sometimes flickers if you don’t hit the switch right. We spend most of the morning just moving boxes around to find what people asked for the day before. Princess Street gets really loud with the traffic outside, so we usually keep the door halfway shut to keep the noise down. My dad started this and I just sort of took over when he got too tired to deal with the heavy lifting. There are some old wood pieces and some brass things that have been sitting in the corner for years. I don’t really mind the clutter, it feels like home to me. Most of our neighbors are shop owners too, so we spend a lot of time drinking tea and talking about how the weather is changing. We don't have a big staff, just me and a couple of guys who help with the polishing. If you come by, you might have to wait a minute while I finish up a phone call or get some grease off my hands. It is just a regular shop doing regular work every day of the week.
