We’ve been based here at 39/2217 on the 3rd floor of City Point on D.H. Road for a while now. Our office gives us a bit of a distance from the street noise, though you can still hear the traffic in Ernakulam if the windows are open. Most days start with a stack of paperwork and a lot of emails to get through. It’s not a big corporate setup. We have a few desks, some old filing cabinets, and a computer that’s a bit slow but gets the job done. The export business involves a lot of waiting for news from ports and shipping lines. We spend our time tracking containers and making sure the documents are all in order. It’s practical work. We don't really do much in the way of fancy meetings. Usually, we just talk across the desks. The lift in the building is a bit temperamental, so we end up taking the stairs more often than we’d like. Around lunchtime, the whole place smells like whatever someone brought from home. There’s a small tea shop nearby where we go when we need a break. It’s a simple routine. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to make sure our clients' goods get to where they need to go without too much trouble. Sometimes the monsoon rain hits the windows hard, and we just keep working through it. It’s a steady, honest kind of life here at the office.
