Periyaar Hotel

You can find us near the Martandavarma Bridge in Aluva. The hotel has been sitting here by the river for quite some time now. It’s a very recognizable spot for anyone traveling through this part of Kerala on their way to or from the airport. The address is Aluva HO, 683101. We see a lot of traffic passing over the bridge every day. The sound of the river is usually there in the background, except when the heavy monsoon rains make it roar and rise up. Our building is nothing special to look at, just a sturdy place that has stood through many different seasons over the years. We have a small crew of workers who handle everything from the guest rooms to the kitchen work. Most of us have been working here since we were much younger. We don’t have any big mission statements or corporate goals other than keeping the place running as best we can. The rooms are plain and simple, and we make sure the sheets are clean and the ceiling fans work properly. In the evenings, people like to sit outside near the entrance and watch the cars and buses go by on the bridge. It gets very humid here, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the walls and the floors to keep things tidy. It’s just a local hotel where travelers stop when they are tired. We don't make a big deal out of it. We just hand over the keys and let them rest.
