Penna Cement

Working on Willingdon Island is different from the rest of the city. Subrahmanniyam Road gets busy with all the shipping and logistics stuff going on. Here at Penna Cement, we spend most our days just keeping things moving. The air has that salty smell from the water nearby. It's a heavy-duty area, so you won't find many fancy shops or anything like that around us. We have been in this spot for a while now. Most days it’s just about unloading and getting the bags sorted for the trucks that come through. The drivers know the way, even though the island roads can be a bit confusing if you aren't used to them. It gets hot out here in the sun, especially when the breeze stops. Our building is pretty straightforward, nothing special to look at, just a place where we get the work done. People stop by and ask for directions sometimes because of where we are located. Subrahmanniyam Road can get dusty when the wind picks up. We just try to keep the place organized so we can find what we need quickly. It's not a quiet job, there is always some noise from the port or the trucks idling outside. That's just how it is on the island. We like being near the water though. It feels like a real hub for trade. We just show up, do the lifting, and go home.
